Philip has mastered many aspects of film production, the combination of which, put him in a unique position to bring Propeller studios to life.

Philip started his career with the world-renowned natural history film unit, Oxford Scientific Films in the UK. Here he learned camerawork, lighting, set design and construction and the specialised craft of prop and model building for film and TV special effects. Aside from wildlife documentaries too numerous to mention he also developed a taste for cinema whilst working on effects for such films as ‘Superman’, ‘Alien’ and ‘Flash Gordon’.

In 1985, Philip became freelance offering his services as a wildlife documentary film maker and SFX model and sequence designer. In 1997, he spent 2 years living in Arizona where he wrote, filmed and directed his award-winning documentary; ‘The Condor, the Coyote and The Canyon’. He went on to film for the BBC on their ‘Congo’ series for which he received an Emmy nomination.

Since 1990, Philip has continued to divide his workload between wildlife filming and SFX. His input is to be seen on TV series such as ‘Wildlife on One’, ‘Nightmares of Nature’ and ‘Wild Africa’ and films from ‘Alien 3’ to ‘Avatar’.
